AFTER TERM ENDS, HUOTUIS ARE GOING OUT TOGETHER. (details are in aly's haloscan.)
DURING THE DANCE BREAK, I AM GOING TO HONG KONG.
(not to mention studying for next year.)
IM PLANNING FOR THE HOLIDAYS LIKE, BEFORE THE EXAMS HAVE EVEN STARTED. haii.
anyway, tomorrow is the day!!! JONATHAN VS HADY!!!
jon leong IS the singapore idol. by idol, i mean not just someone who can SING. he must be able to PERFORM.
Here's a the skeleton of a potential argumentative essay on why you should vote for jonathan leong instead of hady mirza.
1)Jonathan is a damn consistent performer. I spotted this early during the competition, during like, the auditions. Proof: his audition video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=CPyURS0j4aQ
2)Jonathan is really really sweet to the media. Proof: This week's Today papers. (i've forgotten which one, but yeah, the reporter was raving on and on about how nice jon leong is.)
3)Some may say that Hady is a good singer. But so is Jonathan. and he has a more unique voice. Hady sounds downright bland. Proof: Every single episode of singapore idol.
4)Detractors argue that Hady is versatile. But how versataile can someone who cant bring out the required emotions in a song like "I'll Make Love to You" (r&b soul night)?! Fine, i admit that his malay song during the asian pop night was good. but how far can malay songs get him? jonathan leong is MUCH MUCH more versatile than Hady. Firstly, just LISTEN to his chinese song. omg it was sooooo captivating! No offence, but the chinese pop industry is undoubtedly more profitable than the malay one! and jon leong performed damn well during all other genres too! :D
5)Jonathan CAN perform. Hady CANNOT. CANNOT for nuts. firstly, as aforementioned, he sounds bland. he doesnt know how to hold an audience captive. the one and only time he caught my attention was during asian pop night. Whereas jonathan has the ability to capture the audience, and to mesmerize them with his superb renditions of whatever he's singing. though i cant deny that he is not as technically perfect as hady, he IS undeniably the better performer among the two. his performances are always always magical. and PLEASE, we are looking for a singapore IDOL here, not a singapore SINGER.
6)Though jonathan isn't "exactly handsome in the classical sense" (quote courtesy of JLC), he IS suave, and has poise. "While she had never been pretty, she had been clever, an enchantress." (again, thanks to JLC) this quote on Second Wife suits jon leong quite well. He does not look handsome/cute/whatever like JOAKIM. but he is captivating. and his performances are just so magical! On the other hand, Hady has a POCK MARKED FACE. (not unlike a rice husband.) Hady's hair sticks out weirdly from all angles. Please, what year are we in now?! they spring 07 collections are already out in NYC. Hady's ex-david-beckham hairstyle is so.. last century!
7)Jonathan totally rocks when it comes to interviews and spur of the moment questions. He can shoot out an extremely diplomatic and endearing answer almost immediately whereas hady STAMMERS and STUTTERS. now, doesn't an idol have to be articulate? i wonder. :D
SO VOTE FOR JON LEONG TOMORROW!
don your PAP best (all white, since jon's color is white) and prepare your telephones! :D i promise you, it wont take long. just punch in a few numbers. there's no need to watch the finals. jonathan WILL outshine hady. :D
(ps, my sister plans on wearing her school uniform tomorrow. blue and white. :D hady's color is blue.)
